Education with International Curriculum plays an important role in building up smart citizens who contribute to developing overall education systems in our country. International schools are run under the three exam boards like; Pearson-Edexcel, Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) and International Baccalaureate (IB). Edexcel and Cambridge exams are controlled by the British Council of the UK.  and IB is controlled by the New York-based Exam Board. Besides, there are several other curricula in Bangladesh such as; Montessori, Singaporean, Canadian, Indian, and American curriculum.

The interest of students and parents towards international education in Bangladesh is increasing day by day.  According to a statistic of 2018, the rate of English medium students among all the students in the country was only 5 to 7 percent and now its rate has increased to about 25 percent.  So English medium education is now one of the three main education systems in Bangladesh.  According to BANBEIS statistics, the number of English medium schools recognized by the Board of Education under the Bangladesh Ministry of Education is about 350.  According to Bangladesh English Medium School Association, there are about 2.5 lac students.  According to Bangladesh Kindergarten Owners Association, there are about 2000 English medium kindergarten schools in the country, where the number of students is about 4.5 lac. However, although the number of English medium schools in Bangladesh is large, very few schools can ensure the quality teaching-learning and skills based smart education.is insufficient compared to the requirement.  A survey made by Bangladesh International Schools Association (BISA) says that there are some schools whose students' number is huge, but lag behind in ensuring quality education and smart teaching learning. The following few schools are well named in terms of international standard smart and quality education:

4. Sunnydale: This institution has a great reputation for providing quality education.  This school is also popular among Dhaka's English medium schools.  The institution's education, learning environment, results, sports and even extra curricular activities have maintained its excellence.  This school has won the hearts of students and parents day by day due to discipline and sincere teaching of teachers.  Affiliated with Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), which allows students to sit for Cambridge examinations.

5.  Averose International School: A recently established school in Dhaka, Bangladesh, is a high quality Edexcel curriculum based school.  The number of students in this school is large.  Apart from academic activities, there are many opportunities for students to practice their intellect and thinking, which helps them to become smart citizens.  The Averose school puts an emphasis on Islamic education.  The number of their branches is increasing day by day in different centers of Dhaka.

In short, as the demand for English medium in Bangladesh is constantly increasing, many English medium schools have been established in different places, but the number of schools that are able to make an important contribution to ensuring the quality of education and making students a smart nation is negligible.  Apart from the English medium schools mentioned above, there are other schools where continuous efforts are made to maintain the standard of education, such as; Academia, Manarat, Mastermind, Lord's, Play-Pen, Green Herald etc.  So our society and state should come forward with overall patronage of the English medium schools in Bangladesh and they should play a significant role in controlling the proper quality of education.
